As for tarot barato : I can see a few things that could be done to make the community interactions clearer and more welcome.
Wall of Thread
One is a landing page for community content, so you can get a quick summary of threads that are going on, not just threads that are active. Another is to make it easy to follow a specific topic of discussion, so it’s not just a wall of threads, but a well-managed list of posts on that topic and activity over time. A third thing would be to present a map or something visual with a map of where activity is going on and some forums there.
Again, I don’t want to inject myself into the community too much, I’m more like a shape-shifter. I can be in every area, but at certain points, I’m doing something specific and focusing on it. I don’t want to be on everything, that’s not where I’m the most useful. I just want to be one of the first people you see and one of the last, I’m not trying to blow things up.
Speaking of expanding… We have a little bit of focus now on expanding the community, but it’s not going to be a rocket ship right out of the box.
Management of Community
The problem is, we don’t want to take over the social space and start making our own subreddits. That’s just terrible. The community deserves community, and that’s an important part of what we’re trying to build, but we do also want to keep the community out of our forums and keep things focused on the game.
As a community manager, you’re helping people with a little bit of everything: You’re getting them into the game, talking to them, and helping them get involved. You’re not trying to do the social stuff because you don’t have the bandwidth for it, but if you can help anyone in the community, it’s a win in my book. If you get a chat going, a stream going, whatever, it’s a big win for the community.
